KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A section of road in the east is closing Tuesday for the next two days for maintenance work.

A section of Hull Road in Kinston near West Vernon Avenue will be closed today and tomorrow, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

NCDOT says staff is removing an abandoned rail spur to prepare the road for resurfacing later this year.

Officials say drivers can take West Vernon Avenue and U.S. 258 to get around the closure.
