KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A road that was shut down by Tropical Storm Debby is expected to reopen this afternoon.

The Department of Transportation says crews temporarily reopened Dunn Family Road over the weekend.

The D.O.T. says it was closed again this morning for some final work before it reopens for good by 4:00 p.m.

Heavy rainfalls from Debby last weekend caused a big sinkhole to form on the state-owned highway.

Crews had to first replace the big pipe that ran underneath the highway before filling in the hole.
