KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) -– An Eastern Carolina police department is recognized for reducing risks.

The Kinston Police Department was honored after it completed the Law Enforcement Review Process.

The honor came from the North Carolina League of Municipalities during its annual board meeting.

The Risk Review Process evaluates an agency’s commitment to best practices, court decisions, and policies related to high-liability activities in law enforcement.

The League of Municipalities is made up of 540 municipalities, representing nearly every one of them in the state.
