KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – The Kinston Police Department says two 18-year-old men were arrested with stolen guns.

The police department says Deantae Jones and Demontrez Olds, both of Kinston, were arrested early Wednesday morning around 12:30 a.m.

Officials say officers were checking the Veron Park Mall area on Hardee Road after reports of break-ins.

The police department says the men drove away as officers approached their vehicle. Soon after, officers say they stopped the car and saw narcotics.

Officers say they found a gun that was reported stolen to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and weed.

Jones was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. Olds was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possession of marijuana.

Both were put in the Lenoir County jail.
