Kinston police arrest man with drugs within 1,000 feet of school

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A man is behind bars after an Eastern Carolina police department says he was arrested on multiple drug charges.

The Kinston Police Department’s Violent Crime Action Team says they started investigating 47-year-old Nashone Wiggins after tips were shared by the public.

Investigators say the Kinston man was arrested Thursday after a search warrant was served and conducted at his home at 511 Marilyn Drive, near Children’s Village Academy.

Officers say they found and seized narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and money.

Wiggins is the Lenoir County jail facing two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or deliver, felony maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
