KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – Kinston police have arrested a man that they say tried to set a house on Queen’s Road on fire Friday.
Police say that when they got to the home, they were told that 34-year-old Tykeem Trotman had poured fire accelerant and lit cigarettes inside the house to try to start a fire.
Police say that Kinston Fire and Rescue put out a small fire inside the home and Trotman was arrested.
Police say that Trotman was charged witharson as well as misdemeanor child abuse. He was also served with an unrelated order for arrest.
Trotman was taken to the Lenoir County Jail where he is being held without bond.
