Jacksonville police catch man wanted for killing ex-girlfriend in Apex

APEX, N.C. (WITN) – A man wanted for killing his ex-girlfriend this morning near Raleigh was caught this afternoon in Jacksonville.

Tevin Leach has been charged with first-degree murder, according to Apex police.

The man is accused of shooting Felicia Barbee-Battle, outside Molly Maid where the woman worked.

Police said the 30-year-old Leach came inside and asked her to speak with him outside. Within seconds of the two walking outside, multiple gunshots were heard, according to police.

Jacksonville police took Leach into custody around 2:30 p.m. at the Days Inn on U.S. 17 without any problems, according to a spokeswoman.
