Intersection outside of Plymouth shut down by overturned log truck

WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A busy intersection outside of Plymouth was shut down for a good part of the morning after a log truck overturned.

The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. 64 and Highway 149.

Trooper Matthew Myers says the log truck was turning off U.S. 64 and was going too fast. The truck flipped over, slipping its load on the highway.

The truck was headed to the mill and that highway was shut down for four hours because of the debris.

Myers says the driver was not injured and so far no charges have been filed.
