I-485 exit reopened after work van flips near Charlotte airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Traffic has reopened after a work van overturned near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Friday morning.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m., where the exit ramp from I-485 Inner meets Wilkinson Boulevard.

Video from the scene showed a white Ford work van on its side at the stop light.

The exit ramp was closed while police and Medic tended to the situation, but reopened just before 7:30 a.m.

Medic said three people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A black car at the crash scene was also spotted being loaded onto a tow truck.
