PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – ECU Health Medical Center has shared an update on a pedestrian seriously injured in a deadly crash that killed another pedestrian Monday night in Pitt County.

The Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 11, south of Bethel near North Pitt High School, with the road closed in both directions near Hollowell Road for about three hours.

The crash involved three vehicles and two pedestrians.

One of the pedestrians, Qua’tityana Whitaker, 24, of Battleboro, was struck and killed at the scene. Another pedestrian, Antoine Lyons, Jr., 26, also from Battleboro, is at ECU Health Medical Center with serious injuries.

This morning, the hospital says he is in fair condition.
