Home declared a total loss following Saturday Lenoir County fire

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say the massive fire at a home in Lenoir County on Saturday evening has been cleared.

Lenoir County Spokesman Bryan Hanks says the blaze was brought under control around 10:30 pm.

He says crews remained on the scene until 5:00 am mopping up hotspots.

The home has been declared a total loss.

Lenoir County Fire Marshals office investigators are still working to determine the cause.

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Firefighters are battling a massive two-story fire at a home in one Eastern Carolina county.

Public Information Officer Bryan Hanks says that the fire is at a home on Joe Nunn Road south of Kinston.

Ten fire departments are helping with efforts to put out the flames.

Hanks says that the family was not home when the fire started and that there are no injuries at this time.
