HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. (WECT) – Holly Ridge Mayor Jeff Wenzel on Monday, Aug. 19, announced that he is resigning from the position.
Wenzel has been mayor of the town since 2020.
He provided the following statement to WECT:
“Holly Ridge has grown immensely over the past 4 and a half years since i became mayor and I have come to realize that my work schedule could not allow for the duties of being mayor. At this important juncture for the Town with the development of the Camp Davis Industrial Park as well as other growth initiatives, the citizens of Holly Ridge need a mayor who can devote more time to attending meetings, meeting with developers, and represent the Town. The future is bright for Holly Ridge and I am excited to continue to be active in my community,” his statement reads.
