BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two people had to be taken to the hospital following a head on crash on Highway 33 near CCC road.
Blounts Creek Fire Department responded within minutes and found two people trapped in vehicles and one vehicle on fire. Highway 33 was shut down for an extended amount of time.
One person had to be flown to ECU Health in Greenville and another was taken to ECU Health in Washington. Also, a dog, cat and baby raccoon were removed from the vehicles.
Beaufort County Animal Control was called to take the dog, cat and baby raccoon.
