Havelock Bypass construction requires temporary traffic change into February

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – The North Carolina Department of Transportation says work to install a pipe under U.S. 70 for the new Havelock Bypass will cause some traffic changes.

The DOT will close one lane in each direction on U.S. 70 east of Havelock. Workers will shift traffic through construction with portable concrete barriers.

This work is scheduled to be in two parts. One part will be from this Sunday until February 1. Then will begin again from February 4th through the 8th.

The DOT says there will be no detour but drivers should be aware of the change in traffic.
