Halifax County man wins $400,000 off second-chance drawing

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – A Halifax County man got a second chance with the lottery and won it big.

Calvin Fitts, of Littleton, tried his luck with a second-chance drawing and won the $400,000 prize, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery. They said he was one of 50.5 million other entries.

Fitts won the drawing June 5 and collected his winnings today. He took home $286,000 after federal and state taxes.

The lottery says Multiply the Cash players are automatically entered into the second-chance drawing after scanning their ticket into their lottery account. The next drawing will be Oct. 9.
