Gun and ammo seized at Beaufort County high school

BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two students have been charged after deputies say a gun and ammunition were found at an Eastern Carolina high school.

Beaufort County deputies say it happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday at Southside High School, outside of Chocowinity.

Deputies say they assisted Allied Universal Special Police with the investigation after a school administrator reported a weapon being found. They say a .22 caliber handgun and ammunition were seized.

Deputies didn’t release the ages of the two students arrested or what crime they were charged with.
