Greenville unveils affordable housing initiative at Lincoln Park

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -An Eastern Carolina city is hoping to make becoming a homeowner more reachable for its community as they celebrated newly constructed affordable housing.

The city of Greenville held an open house Monday to showcase six new single-family homes in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, located on Hudson and Fleming Street. Ranging from 1,200 to 1,400 square feet, the homes feature 3 to 4-bedroom layouts and include wrap-around porches.

Tianna Berryman, Neighborhood and Business Services Director, highlighted the project’s progress.

“Our second phase started in January of this year, and we are wrapping up construction now. We are eager to welcome buyers into these units by the Fall,” Berryman said.

According to Berryman, the homes, part of a $1.2 million investment, are anticipated to be priced in the mid to low $200,000s.

They were built through Greenville’s affordable housing initiative in collaboration with Bill Clark Homes, marking a significant effort to address community housing needs.
