Greenville teen accused of threatening to “shoot up” Kinston High School

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A Greenville man is in jail after police say he threatened to “shoot up” Kinston High School.

Greenville police on Wednesday arrested Je’marion Williams.

The 18-year-old is charged with communicating a threat of mass violence on education property.

An arrest warrant obtained by WITN says Williams “threatened to shoot up Kinston High School”. The warrant quotes Williams as saying ‘I should just go shoot that place up.”

Kinston police say Williams is a former student at the high school.

The warrant says Williams made the statement on Wednesday, the same day Kinston police said a gun was seen on the campus. Two Kinston men are facing charges in that case and Kinston police said there is no connection to the two cases.

Williams remains in the Pitt County jail on a $10,000 bond.
