Greenville police looking for driver who took out utility pole

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A busy Eastern Carolina intersection is back open after a hit-and-run driver took out a utility pole this morning.

Greenville police say a car hit the utility pole this morning around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and 10th Street.

The police department closed the intersection as Greenville Utility crews worked to replace the broken pole.

Greenville police say they are looking for the car responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 252-329-4315.

This is the second hit-and-run utility pole collision in Greenville in two weeks. WITN reported on Valentine’s Day, a car traveling down Hooker Road turned on Sylvan Drive and hit a utility pole, bringing it to the ground. Officials say no one was injured, but law enforcement was looking for a van with damage.
