Greenville police ask public’s help in solving Ayden man’s murder

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Police in Greenville are reaching out to the public for help on a murder where the victim died nearly three months after being shot.

De-Legend Satterhwaite, of Ayden, was shot in his car back on September 9th at Park West Apartments off Stantonsburg Road.

Police say the man was sitting in the front seat of a Nissan Altima and was shot in the face through the car’s front window. The 23-year-old Satterhwaite died on November 4th at ECU Health Medical Center.

Detectives believe the man knew who shot him, but say he was not willing to speak to them in the days and months after the shooting.
