GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Four people from ENC were honored in a ceremony at the Greenville Hilton yesterday.
The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce recognized four people who earned a 2023 award yesterday in an annual celebration. Those people were Dr. Jasper Lewis Jr., Dr. Ethan Lanker, Carly Moore, and Doug Rifenburg.
Lewis was honored with the chamber’s Legends Award for 2023 which, according to the chamber, is given to a leader who exemplifies efforts in bettering life in Pitt County in all services. He is the owner and president of Eastern Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry and has been practicing for half a century.
Lenker was honored with the 2023 Citizen of the Year award for his work as the Superintendent of Pitt County Schools since 2013. Lenker has served in education for 36 years and as a superintendent for 19 years. The chamber cited his emphasis on educational excellence for the award.
Moore was honored with the 2023 Young Professional of the Year award for her leadership and dedication to the county. She serves as Business Manager III with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Officials with the chamber said she was the eighth person to receive the award.
Rifenburg was honored with the 2023 Ambassador of the Year by vote from his peers in the Ambassador Program. The chamber cites he served as a liaison between the Board, staff, and members. Rifenburg works as the marketing manager for 5th Street Restaurant & Taproom.
