GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -Some local students are helping other kids in the hospital have a happy holiday season.
Students at Greenville Montessori School have made dozens of fleece blankets to give as Christmas presents to kids who are hospitalized at Maynard Children’s Hospital. All of the students ranging from age three to 12 helped out with the “Hug A Blanket” project, which is one of several community service efforts the students perform each year.
Student Jahmari Augustus says, “I really think that during Christmas it’s like the roughest time to be in the hospital and that the setting would be really scary and they’d be really happy to receive one of the blankets that we made.”
The students plan to donate over 100 blankets to Maynard Children’s Hospital in time for the holidays.
