Greenville man in custody for deadly hit & run

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Police in one Eastern Carolina city say a tip help track down a man wanted in a deadly hit & run crash.

Geoffrey Holman, Jr., of Greenville, was arrested this afternoon on a charge of felony hit & run.

Police say the man was expected to turn himself in at the jail on Friday, but he never showed up. After police put his photo out it didn’t take long for them to receive information on his whereabouts.

The crash killed 80-year-old Wilbur Person. The man was riding a moped around 11:00 p.m. last Monday in the area of Stantonsburg Road and Park West Drive when he was hit by a car that never stopped.
