GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say Coach Raymie Styons has died.
According to the Greenville Little League, he passed away suddenly on Sunday.
Styons was a dedicated coach within the GLL program in two different stints.
He coached his son, Trey, on Hungates Hobbies in the early 2000′s before returning to coach Brown & Wood in the 2010′s.
Coach Styons lead the Tar Heel 10 to 12-year-old team to a District 4 championship, N.C. State Championship and an appearance in the Little League Baseball Southeast Region Tournament this summer in all-star competition.
In a statement, the GLL said they are committed to supporting the Styons family and everyone associated with the Little League community during this difficult time.
