Greenville Grande theatre opens with ribbon cutting today after delays

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A movie theatre in the east is opening its doors Friday with a ribbon cutting, giveaways, and the debut of a new blockbuster movie.

Golden Ticket Cinemas is celebrating its opening of the Greenville Grande theatre with a ribbon cutting today at 1 p.m. Following the ribbon cutting, theatre officials say a “Dune: Part Two” screening will show.

The theater will be in the same building as the former Regal Greenville Grande, which closed in 2022 after its parent company filed for bankruptcy.

The theater is opening six theatres today, and an additional five auditoriums in the coming months, including the first IMAX auditorium in Eastern North Carolina next winter.

John Bloemeke, the president of Golden Ticket Cinemas, says they had hoped to have the theatre open by Christmas 2023, however, they faced delays and supply chain issues.
