Greenville Choral Society preparing for Carnegie Hall performance and community concert

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – The Greenville Choral Society has an exciting few months ahead.

The GCS Concert Choir, conducted by Andrew Roby, will be heading to Carnegie Hall in New York in May for a performance.

Before heading to the Big Apple, GCS will host a significant and active composer of choral music at the end of April.

Elaine Hagenberg will be coming to Greenville to work with the Greenville Choral Society’s choirs. From April 26th-28th, Hagenburg will work hands-on with GCS’s Children’s Chorus, Bella Voce, Youth Chorale, and Concert Choir.

At the end of the weekend, GCS will perform a major concert featuring all of GCS’s choirs and their new orchestra, New Carolina Sinfonia, performing Hagenburg’s music.

The concert will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th at Oakmont Baptist Church in Greenville, and will include remarks by Hagenburg. Admission is free.
