GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A choir here in the east is bringing the vibrant life of The Big Apple to Greenville for a fundraising concert with an award-winning Broadway performer from Eastern Carolina native.
The Greenville Choral Society is hosting “A Night in the Big Apple” featuring Greenville‘s own New York City singer and Actor Kristen Wetherington.
Artistic Director of the Greenville Choral Society Andy Roby says the concert is a compilation of songs from Broadway shows old and new. Roby says Wetherington, a three-time Broadway World and SALT Award winner, is the centerpiece of the show as she has performed in some of the largest theaters and arenas.
Wetherington is an East Carolina University School of Theatre and Dance graduate whose voice has been heard
This concert is the yearly fundraiser for the organization and 160 singers apart of varying ensembles. Artists in the Choral Society’s ranging sympathies are as young as nine to as experienced at 80 years-old.
Those attending can expect a concert to remember, as well as a silent auction, cocktail hour, and dinner with music.
The concert is on February 17, however, ticket sales for the event end on February 3.
