Graduates donate $1 million towards Pirates Unite baseball campaign

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Two East Carolina University graduates continue their commitment to their alma mater with a $1 million donation.

Paul and Sybil Trevisans donated toward ECU Athletics’ Pirates Unite Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence. The university says the investment will directly support the Dick and Sarah Bennett Baseball Building expansion project aimed at enhancing facilities and resources for athletes.

ECU says the Trevisans have been partners with the Pirate Club for nearly 30 years. They said the family’s past contributions establishing the Ray Scharf Swimming Endowment, the Second Century Campaign, and the Southside Renovation Project.

“We extend our sincerest gratitude to Paul and Sybil for their extraordinary support and dedication to our university and athletics department,” ECU Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert said. “As a former Pirate student-athlete, Paul understands and appreciates the commitment from our student-athletes. A gesture of this magnitude highlights the commitment to advancing the athletic programs and providing student-athletes with the resources they need to excel both on and off the field.”
