Gov. Cooper weighs-in on President Biden staying in the 2024 race

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Gov. Roy Cooper is expressing his support for President Joe Biden amid questions from some in his party about whether he’s the best choice to work to win the 2024 election.

WITN asked Cooper, who was in Goldsboro for an education-related stop at Wayne Community College, about his stance on Biden.

“I strongly support President Biden. He has made his decision to stay in this race. We must stop Donald Trump from getting near the Oval Office again. And I believe that Joe Biden and his performance as President…The infrastructure investments that have been made have been positive for this country, so I’m I’m positive about the election.” says Cooper.

Biden has been weathering a barrage of questions about his fitness for another 4 years in office following what many saw as a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump late last month.
