Goldsboro man arrested and charged with identity theft following additional charges

Goldsboro, N.C. (WITN) – A Goldsboro man gave an officer a fake name following an arrest between him and another person, racking up a list of charges.

According to the Goldsboro police department on January 5th just after 2:00 p.m., police went to the area of 1144 Tommy’s Road for a report of a disturbance and an armed person. When they arrived they found the two individuals inside of a vehicle and a firearm was found.

The two people arrested were Donesia Sanders and Claudedarris Woods. However, after the arrest process, officials found out that the male offender provided a fake name of Claudedarris Woods to law enforcement. His correct name is Jair Tysheen Kornegay.

Kornegay was arrested while still in the custody of the Wayne County Detention Center and charged with Identity Theft and Resist Public Officer on top of his additional charges which are Going Armed to the Terror of the Public, Carrying a Concealed Gun, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.

Sanders was charged with Carrying a Concealed Gun.

According to officials, Both Sanders and Kornegay have bond and court info unavailable at the time.

Tommy’s Road Elementary and Wayne Preparatory Academy had to be placed on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted after officers arrived.
