GoFundMe set up for burial of 12-year-old Lenoir Co. student shot & killed

LENIOR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Last week, The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office started investigating what appears to be the accidental shooting of a middle school student.

The shooting happened last Thursday evening on Dean Drive just outside of Kinston.

Lenoir County Schools say the 12-year-old boy is Za’Dok Clark, a student at Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School.

The sheriff’s office says evidence in the investigation suggests the child’s death was an accidental shooting by his 22-year-old sibling.

Authorities say the gun involved was a .22 caliber rifle. They have not said where the boy was shot.

The sheriff’s office is consulting with the District Attorney’s office for guidance and the investigation into this incident continues.

The family has set up a GoFundMe for burial expenses.
