MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) – There’s a new leader at Big Rock Landing with ‘Game Time’ bringing in a 516-pound blue marlin.

The boat came into Morehead City around 4:25 p.m. with the catch.

It snagged the top of the leader board from ‘Release’ which brought in a 504-pound fish around 2:45 p.m.

If it remains the largest fish it will take a $1.8 million prize.

‘Release’ still walks away with the year’s Fabulous Fisherman prize, the first catch over 500 pounds. That’s worth just over $1.7 million.

This is the 66th annual tournament that runs until Saturday.

The tournament says a record 302 boats are competing for a purse of $7,560,575.

Big Rock says there were 271 boats out on the water today.

While there are six days of fishing, boats can only be out on the water for four days.
