Flash flooding Saturday prompts Lenoir County rescues

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Heavy rains cause flash flooding in one Eastern Carolina county on Saturday.

Kinston fire & rescue as well as police helped with the rescue of several people who tried to drive through flooded waters.

No one was injured.

Areas that flooded include:
-Highway 11 N. in front of Covation Bio
-Morning Side Dr. at Summit Ave.
-Vernon Ave. in front of Grainger Stadium
-Adkin Branch at Plaza Blvd. & N. Queen St.
-Plaza Blvd. at Market St.
-N. McLewean St. at E. Washington Ave.
