First Greenville distillery set to open next week

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A new distillery is coming to a city here in the east, and it’s the first of its kind in the downtown area.

Four flavored and premium vodkas, all made on East 5th Street in Greenville.

“We kind of just have a lot going on, so we have a cocktail bar and tasting room. We have a liquor manufacturing facility,” said Bret Oliverio, the owner of Crush Distillery and Cocktail Bar.

After being in the works for three years, the owner of Sup Dogs is finally opening a Crush Distillery and Cocktail Bar with hopes of turning the open sign around soon.

“Next week, we’re aiming for some soft openings, hopefully being open to the public, maybe Thursday-ish, so we’re excited, and it’s coming quick,” said Oliverio.

Not only does excitement surround the new distillery. “Any opportunity to have more choices comes with the ability to have a good time and meet new people. It’s always great for the community,” said ECU Senior Dylan Stark.

Crush also just released a new unflavored Team Boneyard vodka, with 100% of the bottle profits going to Team Boneyard. “We’re going to be funding NIL opportunities for students’ athletes at ECU, and this vodka partnership will be a great way to add to the fund,” said one of the founders of Team Boneyard, Hank Hinton.

There will be a release of 250 bottles of Team Boneyard vodka on Friday at the ABC store on Charles Blvd. “To me, if you’re having a party or a gathering and you can buy vodka, the profits stay here locally in the community and support student-athletes; that’s a win-win,” said Oliverio.

The vodka will then be sold later at ABC stores throughout Pitt County and at the Crush distillery.

The four flavors of the other vodkas are wild cherry, vanilla grapefruit, and, of course, orange.

The hours for the Crush Distillery and cocktail bar are 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and noon to 2 am Thursday through Saturday.
