BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A family of three is homeless after a fire last night in Beaufort County.

Two adults and a child were at home when the fire began around 9:40 p.m. on Beech Lane, just outside of Washington.

A county spokesman says everyone got out of the home safely and no one was injured.

The one-story home was gutted as multiple fire departments were called to help put out the fire.

Its cause is still undetermined and the family is getting help from the Red Cross with temporary housing.
