Fire consumes Greene County home

GREENE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Multiple Eastern Carolina fire departments were called to a home fire Wednesday night.

The Snow Hill Rural Fire Department says crews from their department and Maury Fire Rescue responded to help the Hookerton Fire Department put out a fire burning a home at 3492 Fourway Road.

The fire department says crews prepared for a rescue as flames continued to burn the home.

Volunteer members went into the home to find no one trapped.

Firefighters say the fire was brought under control within 8 minutes.

The Red Cross has been notified.
