GRIFTON, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina town is releasing few details about a data leak.

In a short social media post this morning, Grifton said it was aware of the data leak on some accounts, but didn’t explain if residents’ information had been compromised or not.

“We assure the residents that administration is working diligently to pinpoint and address the situation,” the message said.

WITN has reached out to the town for more information on the data leak.

We were told that only the town manager could comment on what is happening, but we discovered Oryan Lowry wasn’t in the office today.
