Families thank community, police, and others in Jack’s Creek recovery efforts

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – The families of three men missing for more than 40 years are thanking those involved in the recovery efforts of their car this past weekend in Washington.

Bill Clifton, David McMicken, and Michael Norman were last seen in a bar in Chocowinity on December 10th, 1982.

The 1975 Camaro was found upside down in Jack’s Creek on Friday and it was recovered Saturday night. Police are awaiting DNA tests to confirm that human remains found in the creek belong to the three men.

This morning, the families issued a statement, expressing gratitude for the recovery.
