Evans Street now open to pedestrians and vehicles after storm

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -The City of Greenville says Evans Street has reopened to pedestrians and vehicles as of Thursday morning.

Authorities say contractors worked overnight dismantling the damaged scaffolding at the Hilton Garden Inn construction site downtown.

The structure was damaged during the stormy weather Tuesday night and a portion of Evans Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets was closed.

Contractors were able to secure the scaffolding at that time until a structural review could be done Wednesday morning.
