GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – East Carolina University is searching for a new home for its chancellor, this time on a smaller scale.
The ECU Foundation bought a massive home in the Star Hill Farms neighborhood six years ago. At the time some criticized its size and that it was more than two miles from campus.
University trustees announced Thursday, plans to repair and sell the 85-hundred square foot home, saying a smaller home might better fit for “the university’s needs and culture.”
In the meantime, ECU is leasing a home in Winterville as a temporary residence for Chancellor Philip Rogers and his family.
That lease is for 12 months, time for the Star Hill Farms house to be sold and for the university to locate a new official residence for the chancellor, according to ECU.
