ECU Health electrophysiology lab accredited, first in North Carolina by commission

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -An Eastern Carolina hospital lab is the first to receive a “seal of approval” for patient trust from the Intersocial Accreditation Commission in North Carolina.

The ECU Health Medical Center Electrophysiology Lab has recently announced the accreditation it received from the accreditation commission. According to the news release, the lab has been accredited in the areas of testing and ablation, device implantation, and left atrial appendage occlusion.

The hospital highlights the importance of an accredited electrophysiology team as it is a producer sought worldwide for a trained and professional team.

“ECU Health is dedicated to setting a national standard for rural health care and high-quality cardiovascular care,” said Jay Briley, president, ECU Health Medical Center. “Achieving IAC accreditation for the ECU Health Medical Center Electrophysiology Lab not only underscores our commitment to excellence but also highlights the unique advantage of offering advanced care in a rural setting.”

Briley says that he sees the accreditation as a reaffirmation of ECU Health’s mission to best serve the people of Eastern Carolina with top medical services.
