eCourts expanding statewide next year

State officials are expanding eCourts to all 100 counties, including Eastern Carolina, in 2025.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – State officials are expanding eCourts to all 100 counties, including Eastern Carolina, in 2025.

The North Carolina Judicial Branch has announced plans for eCourts expansion to all counties in 2025. The release says half of North Carolina counties already use the system, so the remaining counties will be brought into the expansion next year.

Eastern Carolina counties will be brought in one of two waves. The first wave, including Carteret, Craven, Jones, Pamlico, and Duplin counties, will take place on February 3rd.

The second wave, including Pitt, Lenoir. Greene, Wayne, and Edgecombe counties, will take place on April 28th.

“Millions more North Carolinians will benefit from the convenience of digital access to their courthouse in 2025 as momentum builds for statewide completion of the historic eCourts transition in the Judicial Branch,” NCAOC Director Ryan Boyce said.
