Early voting polls in North Carolina open today

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Early voting begins Thursday morning for North Carolina’s second primary election.

Eligible, registered voters can cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county. Voters who vote by absentee ballot can return it by mail or hand it to an election official at a site in their county. They can also drop it off in person to their county board of elections office.

The county board of elections must receive absentee ballots by 7:30 p.m.

On election day, those who vote in person will be asked to show a photo ID when they check in to vote. A valid driver’s license and many other forms of photo ID will be accepted.

Early voting for the 2024 second primaries will end at 3 p.m. on May 11th. Election day will be May 14th with polls opening from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
