With the start of the weekend, more showers and storms will be moving in later in the afternoon and evening, prompting additional concerns for flash flooding and rivers overcoming their banks over the next few days. Rainfall amounts will range from 1-3″, with higher isolated amounts possible. If you plan to head out on the roads this weekend, continue to watch out for flooded roadways and low-lying areas that flood fast. With the rainfall we have seen, the ground is saturated and will just pile up over the same areas. Besides the flooding threat, a gust of wind is possible with the storms moving in from a cold front. Highs remain in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 70s.
More scattered showers and storms continue into Monday and Tuesday as this will be the end of our rainy stretch and by mid-week, we will see a break finally in this unsettled pattern for a few days. As we dry out, the humidity also takes a dip and we will feel slightly comfortable by the weekend. Temperatures remain in the mid 80s and lows drop to the mid 60s at night.
As for the tropics, there is another disturbance in the Atlantic that we’ll eventually need to watch, but let’s breathe for a few days before things get busy again.
