GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN)- As you are celebrating Grandparents Day, morning showers will come to an end by the noon hour, as temperatures remain in the mid 80s and slightly humid. A few showers are possible later in the evening as clouds filter in, then a few areas of patchy fog overnight, with temperatures in the 70s.

The start of the new week will feature an isolated chance of a passing shower/thunderstorm Monday, then partial clearing skies Tuesday. Temperatures stay in the mid 80s and overnight lows in the low 70s.

Wednesday brings back another chance rain and a few passing storms, as a front will be moving in the area. Temperatures will remain in the mid 80s and overnight lows will drop to the mid 60s, with a light breeze.

Thursday and going into the weekend, temperatures are forecasted to stay in the mid 70s and low 80s, with lower humidity. Overnight lows drop to upper 50s to low 60s. A few areas could dip in the mid 50s Saturday and Sunday morning.

As for the tropics, Lee’s path will continue to turn to the northwest, as it will maintain category 2 strength Sunday, then go back to category 3 and 4 status by early to mid week, then downgrading to a category 1 strength by Friday morning. It will pass to the northwest this weekend by Antilles and stay out to sea after Monday.

The area could see a few impacts along the Crystal Coast to the Outer Banks, as rip currents could and tides could be on the choppy side through Wednesday overnight and continuing into Friday afternoon. Make sure to pay attention to the flags that might be flown and avoid being in the water during both low and high tides.

Margot remains in the open Atlantic as a tropical storm this weekend and is forecasted to become a hurricane as a category 1 status by Tuesday morning and will continue out to sea this week, with no impacts to the ENC area.
