Domestic dispute call in New Bern leads to drug charges

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – A call for a domestic dispute leads to drug charges against a New Bern man.

New Bern police say they went to a domestic dispute at the 2000 block of Neuse Boulevard on Wednesday around 11:39 p.m.

Officers said that Nicholas Kemp of Norristown, Pennsylvania was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Lenoir County.

During his arrest, police said they found 13 crack cocaine rocks weighing less than an ounce, less than an ounce of marijuana, digital scale, grinder, metal pipe, and 2 plastic containers used to package drugs.

Kemp was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule VI, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kemp was given a $100,000 secured bond on the drug charges and a $1,000 secured bond for the outstanding warrant.
