PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies are investigating after a woman was found dead in a home in Pitt County on Saturday.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:46 pm, they responded to the residence located at 3186 NC 903 North in Stokes, to a report of a female that was deceased due to unnatural causes.

Upon arrival, they say the found 75-year-old Olivia Musgrave dead inside. Detectives began an investigation at the scene.

Information obtained by detectives led them to identify the son of the deceased as a person of interest.

Authorities say the son is 43-year-old Richard Musgrave.

Evidence collected inside the home, along with further information gathered during the investigation led detectives to arrest Richard Musgrave at the crime scene.

Deputies say he was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center and charged with an open count of murder under no bond.
