PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Greenville man was arrested Thursday night after a traffic stop led to a gun charge.
According to deputies with the Pitt County Sherriff’s Office, members of the Gang and Gun Crimes Unit tried to pull over 31-year-old Sequan Robinson after they said they saw him break several traffic laws.
Deputies say that Robinson refused to stop and continued driving for another three miles before stopping. When deputies searched his car, they say they found a gun under the driver’s seat.
Deputies said that Robinson is a convicted felon who is out on probation, so he is not allowed to have a firearm.
Deputies arrested Robinson and charged him with possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed gun. He was taken to the Pitt County Jail where he was released after posting a $16,000 secured bond.
