DEPUTIES: Edgecombe County woman arrested after using dead boyfriend’s debit card

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies say the Eastern Carolina woman who used her dead boyfriend’s debit card, has been arrested after being wanted for murder.

Edgecombe County deputies say the body of 60-year-old Alexander Atkinson was found in the man’s home on Highway 124, east of Macclesfield on Thursday.

They say the man was dead for some time and that he died from an assault.

The man’s girlfriend, Vicki Russell, was caught on camera as late as yesterday in Raleigh using the card and was nabbed by Raleigh police during the night.

She is now in custody and is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center under no bond.
