LENOIR COUNTY N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina man is in jail facing multiple child sex charges.

Lenoir County deputies on Wednesday arrested Richard Sparrow.

The 38-year-old Deep Run man is charged with statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, statutory sex offense with a child under the age of 15, and indecent liberties with a child.

Deputies say they began their investigation on January 15th along with the Lenoir County Department of Social Services. The original complaint said that Sparrow had been sexually molesting and assaulting a child.
